There are two steams:

Direct entry stream:

Have an eligible occupation.

You must be nominated by an employer for this visa.
Have relevant work experience
(most applicants need to have at least 3 years relevant work experience in their occupation)
Have a positive skills assessment、
You must be nominated by an Australian employer whose business is actively and lawfully operating in Australia.

must have at least Competent English to be granted this visa.
Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused

Temporary Residence Transition stream:

have the required skill
Be nominated by the employer who sponsored your temporary work visa
you must be under 45 years of age when you apply.
Meet our health requirement and character requirement
Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused
must have at least Competent English.
